Job Overview: Within IRC’s Resettlement, Asylum, and Integration (RAI) department, in the Processing unit, the Family Reunification Coordinator will play an important role in processing family reunification applications for the USRAP Family Reunification programs. The Family Reunification Coordinator will support the IRC Family Reunification team with processing, tracking, and case managing Affidavits of Relationship (AORs). The position will also assist the Family Reunification team with training field staff & partners. The position is supervised by the Senior Program Officer (SPO) for Family Reunification and under their guidance will support all facets of the family reunification process.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Hold a high-level understanding of the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP).
  • Maintain up-to-date subject matter expertise in the USRAP Family Reunification programs; Priority 3 (P3) Affidavit of Relationship (AOR), Central American Minor (CAM) AOR, Former Soviet Union (FSU) AOR, & Iranian Refugee Information Form (RIF).
  • Maintain Family Reunification Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & resources.
  • Assist in creating & maintaining Family Reunification trainings for the IRC network, partners, & stakeholders.
  • Assist in coordinating network wide training for individual Family Reunification programs.
  • Assist Program Officer Family Reunification & Program Officer CAM with Case Management, distributing updates, appointment notifications, and guidance to field offices. Along with maintaining tracking and monitoring of submission data and trends.
  • Conduct vetting of field submissions of application packages for the USRAP Family Reunification programs.
  • Contribute to potential technological upgrades around Family Reunification processing as required.
  • Support IRC field offices with Family Reunification inquires & specific outreach on an occasional basis/as required.
  • Support Program Officer Family Reunification & Program Officer CAM, with family reunification related projects as needed.
  • Other ad-hoc projects as assigned by the SPO-Family Reunification or the Director for Processing.

External: Other Resettlement Agencies, Kids In Need Of Defense (KIND), Resettlement Processing Center (RPC), Resettlement Support Centers (RSC), technology-related partners, others

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
  • 2-4 years of experience in refugee resettlement, immigration, or similar field, preferably with experience specific to Family Reunification.
  • Experience communicating and working remotely.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills: the ability to work with colleagues in English.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the US Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP).
  • Strong computer skills: advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Adobe; familiarity with IRIS, a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills: the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and partners.
  • Solid diplomatic skills: the ability to effectively manage a variety of internal relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, effectively manage time, and meet deadlines; exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment; aptitude for ongoing learning and adjusting to frequent changes in processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as, an overall ability to be clear and concise in all communications.
  • Strong analytic problem-solving skills.
