Summary: This position plays an instrumental part in reuniting refugee and displaced families. Balancing both detail orientation with high people skills in addition to the ability to work across many cultures, this position will screen, submit forms, and process paperwork for select family reunification options in partnership with national organizations.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct outreach to eligible communities that builds trust and encourages participation
  • Partner with national organizations to prepare, submit, and track applications for family reunification, including Priority 3 Affidavit of Relationship (P3 AOR), Central American Minor Affidavit of Relationship (P2 CAM AOR), Former Soviet Union Lautenberg Program (P2 FSU AOR), and Iranian Lautenberg Program (P2 Iranian RIF)
  • Meet with clients either in person or virtually to discuss eligibility and complete paperwork
  • Review evidentiary documentation submitted with applications for consistency and completeness
  • Ensure supporting evidence is gathered and submitted to the national organization for processing in a timely manner
  • Conduct regular case status checks and prompt responses when missing documents are needed
  • Communicate as the primary liaison with the national organizations throughout the application and reunification process
  • Maintain processing applications and case files with accuracy and organization
  • Once applications are submitted, work with clients to update and/or comply with application requirements (e.g., corrections, circumstance changes, DNA testing, etc.)
  • Stay current with changes to refugee family reunification programs and application processes
  • Update training materials about all family reunification processes
  • Sensitivity and patience to work with clients given individual circumstances and substantial wait times

Qualifications

  • Experience working with diverse and vulnerable populations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and flexible attitude
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, organize, remain self-motivated, and be attentive to details
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Fluent in Spanish, Farsi, Russian, or Ukrainian preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident
  • Must have reliable transportation, maintain Texas valid driver’s license and insurance coverage for vehicle
