Job Description

Raytheon Intelligence and Space Field Engineering (RIS FE) is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Supporting Operations, Maintenance, and Integration of the Qatar Early Warning Radar (QEWR). The selected candidate will be responsible for the Mechanical Maintenance of the Radar facility. They will serve as the lead technical point of contact for customer operation, maintenance, and inspection procedures and techniques. The Mechanical Engineer may integrate, and test mechanical-focused hardware, conduct mechanical analyses, and consistent coordination and communication across teams in order to ensure successful hardware performance. This role may also include leading teams or sub-contractors in the completion of above tasks. Candidates for this position will be on a Long-Term International Assignment (LTIA) in Qatar.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Experience substantiating technical concepts with engineering documentation
  • Communicating problems to other specialists and recommending potential solutions
  • 2+ years of experience in the mechanical engineering field, development, and/or test, preferably of defense-related components or systems
  • experience maintaining large, complex facility equipment
  • Communicate with cross-disciplined, diverse engineering team members and suppliers to analyze capabilities and compliance to requirements
  • Work under limited supervision and act as the responsible engineer in a management role over entire subsystems within an effort. This often requires the ability to direct, delegate and review the work of others.
  • Experience with effective communication (written and verbal) with others in order to document actions and results and to communicate to program management and customers through presentations and reports
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for technical analysis, data sorting, and technical documentation

MUST HAVE ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE, A VALID US PASSPORT, AND A US DRIVERS LICENSE.

Desired Skills

  • Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Engineering Science, Math, or other Engineering disciplines
  • 8+ years of experience in the mechanical engineering field, development, and/or test, preferably of defense-related components or systems.
  • Demonstrated collaboration with cross-disciplined teams, using trust, respect, and innovation to drive results towards a shared vision.
  • Experience in Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of

    • Diesel Generator Paralleling System Power Sources
    • Facility uninterruptible power supply systems (UPS)

    • Both 50 and 60 hertz (Hz) Distribution Systems
    • Auxiliary Power 415V-50Hz Systems
    • House Power 480V 60Hz Systems
    • Equipment Cooling System (ECS) Chilled Water Systems
    • Plumbing and Domestic Water Systems
    • Sanitary and Waste Water Treatment Systems
    • Heating, Ventilation, and Air Cooling (HVAC) Systems
    • Chilled Water Systems
    • Fuel Systems
    • Facility Management Automation Systems (FMAS)
    • Elevator Systems
    • Bridge Crane Systems
    • Electric Chain Hoist Systems

The primary work location will be on-site in Qatar. 100% travel is required to meet activities as needed.

Required Education (including Major)

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Engineering Science, Math, or other Engineering discipline and 2 years of prior relevant experience, unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for 2 additional years of experience.
