World Vision US is hiring an External Engagement Manager to serve on the Technical Branding Team for International Programs Group (IPG).

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Technical Branding

Required Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field or equivalent work experience (eight years). In addition to education or education equivalent, requires five years of work experience in International Programs with proven skills and/or specific work experience in communications, branding, external engagement, or related field.

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. for any employer.

Travel: Up to 20% of time, mostly domestic.

The Job:

World Vision is looking for an External Engagement Manager to work closely with technical teams to develop and implement an external engagement plan for IPG that will advance the technical aspects of World Vision’s brand in alignment with WVUS strategic plan and corporate priorities. The position will work with IPG teams to increase visibility of World Vision’s programs—specifically highlighting evidence of impact with government partners (USAID and other agencies) and private donor partners (individuals, corporations, foundations) through various communication channels and high profile events.

Additionally, the position will:

  • Cultivate relationships and negotiate agreements with technical development organizations such as Devex and InterAction, as well as representatives for top conferences and events that are identified as key to promoting our technical work.
  • Support technical teams at international conferences by participating in the development of messaging points, promotional activities (booth, social media, etc.), delegation coordination, etc.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

In addition to the above, you will:

  • Report on the impact of external engagement activities as they relate to the strategy and priorities of WVUS, particularly related to resource-acquisition efforts (return on investment).
  • Manage IPG’s external engagement calendar and coordinate with other departments, including the Public Engagement team.
  • Manage assigned program budget efficiently.
  • Provide capacity building resources and activities that ensure IPG technical staff and department leaders are equipped to represent the organization well through high-quality external engagement efforts.
  • Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field or equivalent work experience (eight years).

In addition to education or education equivalent, requires five years of work experience in International Programs with proven skills and/or specific work experience in communications, branding, external engagement, or related field.
