Ai.Bi. Associazione Amici dei Bambini is an Italian non-governmental organization, established in 1986, operating in Italy and in other 33 countries worldwide to guarantee every child the right to be son or daughter. We are searching for a Project Manager to be located in Lviv, Ukraine, in order to manage emergency operations in the Country.

Job location: Lviv (Ukraine)

Start: April 2022

Contract: 6 months contract

Wage level: to be defined according to the candidate’s experience

The Project Manager will mainly have the following duties:

· To organize and coordinate ongoing and to be started interventions addressing vulnerable children and mother-child families in Ukraine.

· To monitor and analyse the evolution of local population’s needs as the ongoing war continues.

· To organize and manage, in coordination with local authorities, minors and mother-child families leaving Ukraine to be hosted in Italy, in Ai.Bi.’s hosting structures.

· To manage and select human resources to be part of the staff and of the interventions’ technical teams.

· To manage financial resources and available funds.

· To organize the logistics and distribution in Ukraine of food and non-food items sent from Italy.

· To work on new project proposals, including budgeting, identifying new issues to be addressed and new partners to involve, or strengthening ongoing thematic priorities and existing partnerships.

· To carry out monitoring activities and feasibility studies in view of new project proposals. To regularly draft operational reports, news, and articles.

· To maintain, foster and build institutional relationships with international donors, and coordinate with the other humanitarian actors within the thematic clusters of reference.

· To regularly update Ai.Bi.’s headquarters on the ongoing activities providing standardized and periodic reports.

· To regularly update Ai.Bi.’s headquarters on local security aspects and issues.

Requirements:

· Availability to move immediately to Lviv in Ukraine.

· Experience in technical and financial management of development cooperation projects within developing countries and emergency contexts. More specifically, previous experience on projects funded by ECHO, MAECI- AICS and OCHA.

· Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English. Knowledge of Russian, Ukrainian or Polish will be considered as assets.

· Communication and mediation skills with partners and local institutions.

· Proven expertise in managing and coordinating local partners and project activities.

· Good knowledge of Windows Office.

· Excellent “problem solving” skills and adaptation ability to disadvantaged contexts.

· Ability to work under pressure.

Ai.Bi. has been operating in Ukraine since 1999 through the Ukrainian Charitable Foundation Drusie Ditiei Ukraina (Friends of Children Ukraine), whose headquarters are in Kiev. The implemented activities address institutionalized children in Kiev region.
