Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking an experienced, driven and methodical individual for the role of Executive Director – Alberta Radiopharmaceutical Center. This is a key leadership role within the Diagnostic Imaging Leadership Team and is accountable for all manufacturing, technical, scientific and business operations of Alberta Radiopharmaceutical Services (ARS). As the Executive Director – Alberta Radiopharmaceutical Center, you will influence the research and development of radiopharmaceutical diagnostic and treatment methodologies that are intended to lead to new standards of care and improved patient outcomes. The ED will collaborate and consult with internal and external stakeholders, proposing and advising on transformative methods and strategies to address future business needs and imminent challenges related to the delivery of patient care, including being accountable for the actions of all staff that are involved in the preparation, production and quality assurance of radiopharmaceuticals for distribution locally, provincially and Canada wide.

Description:

As the Executive Director – Alberta Radiopharmaceutical Center, you will be responsible and accountable in the development, implementation and management of ARS, with significant, province-wide impact. The ED holds accountability for the overall direction, performance and results achieved by the program area, while ensuring overall compliance with regulatory body requirements. You will develop, implement, and evaluate short-term and long-term strategies including pricing of products, process development, quality assurance, research and development associated with clinical and preclinical radiopharmaceuticals in alignment with AHS priorities, values and organizational goals. A key success to this role will be building, nurturing and facilitating collaborative relationships necessary for effective and long-term engagement with diverse internal and external stakeholders and vendors, including a substantial and comprehensive team of leaders across the entire organization. The ED will collaborate with other internal functional groups for seamless operation, consistency and quality customer support; as well will be responsible for a multi-faceted budget in a complex and changing environment, planning and implementing a cost-effective operational service delivery model, including budget related to the purchase of radiopharmaceutical products and services.

Required Qualifications:

Masters or Bachelor’s degree in health services administration, business or a related field (e.g. diagnostic imaging, radiopharmacy, etc.) Equivalencies of education (e.g. diploma, certificate, etc.) with additional years of experience will be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

5 to 10 years experience in a leadership/management role. 2 to 5 years experience in radiopharmaceutical operations encompassing manufacturing, compounding, quality control and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals. Knowledge and understanding of Federal/ Provincial regulations governing radiopharmaceutical operations. Experience working within a complex, public sector organization or organization of significant size, complexity, or diversity. Strong leadership skills and a demonstrated comfort with decision-making responsibilities. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to forge effective working partnerships with internal and external partners, including senior leadership within AHS, and other organizations. Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans, with effective organizational and change management skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strategic planning and implementation skills along with strong relationship management skills. Preferred Business Administration Degree or equivalent experience.
