Ana Aqra Association focuses mainly on advancing literacy and promoting independent learning.

Ana Aqra Association is a Lebanese non-profit, non-sectarian, non-political association benefiting vulnerable children, ages 3 to 14 – who are attending, or on their way to attend, Lebanese public schools – as well as their parents, teachers, and school administrators. Ana Aqra integrates play-based learning and PSS. Ana Aqra aims for sustainable impact through innovative approaches that respond to educational needs.

The Position –Executive Director

The position reports directly to the Board of Directors and works closely with the Senior Management Team and the Board to:

• Assess the Association’s strategic priorities in view of Lebanon’s multiple crises.

• Develop the business plan of the Association to respond to the education sector’s challenges while also identifying opportunities to generate income to improve the Association’s financial sustainability.

• Provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of the operations and the human capital management of the Association.

• Work with a marketing and development specialist to develop a strategy that will drive the Association’s growth.

• Champion new ideas leading to the growth of a diverse business portfolio and the development of new business opportunities.

Preferred qualifications and skills desired in the new Deputy include the following:

• Master’s Degree in the field of Social Sciences, Humanities, Business Management or Public Administration, or a related discipline from a recognized university

• At least 10 years of work experience in a senior leadership role

• An understanding of the Lebanese public education system and related issues in Lebanon is preferred

• Proven managerial, financial and leadership skills

• Strong donor relationships building; Experience applying for and managing grants

• Demonstrated team-building skills

• Proven planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic

• Competent technology user

• Skilled at delegating, empowering, and managing staff to maximize human resources

• Willing and able to commit to additional hours required beyond the typical working hours

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Promote the vision and mission of the Association.

• Develop a strategic vision for the association and on the ground operating plans, short and long- term goals and objectives, and policies for the Association.

• Provide leadership to the management functions of the Association.

• Support the Director of Programs to strengthen program implementation, reporting and accountability in accordance with Ana Aqra and donor policies.

• Identify partnership opportunities for the sustainable growth of Ana Aqra programs, overseeing proposal design and development that contributes to the strategic objectives of the Association.

• Manage collaborative and effective partnerships with donors, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, consortium partners, and other stakeholders.

• Communicate with international and local NGOs, UN agencies, donor community officials, national government, vendors, media, and the public to advocate for the Association and optimize networks.

• Maintain effective and positive internal communication with staff in all locations (head office, field offices, and virtual locations).

• Ensure compliance and transparent use of resources in line with the Association’s and donors’ regulations.

• Recognize opportunities for innovation and identify and implement new ideas of benefit to the Association.

• Adhere to Ana Aqra principles and values and actively promote their application among colleagues.

• Carry out other tasks as required by the Board of Directors.
