About this opportunity

As Evaluation Support Officer you will play a supporting role to the Evaluation Team and their delivery of robust evaluations to inform service improvement and organisational learning about what works, what doesn’t work and why.
Reporting to the Evaluation Manager, you will support the team to plan, deliver and share findings from evaluations of UK services, ensuring the value of this insight is maximised within services and across the supporting functions while working collaboratively acros s the British Red Cross with other colleagues involved in undertaking research and evaluation, for example with Fundraising and Engagement and Communications and Advocacy, to achieve the strategic objectives.
You will play a leading role in the delivery of evaluations by co-ordinating evaluation tasks with service teams, communicating with service users to secure their engagement and liaising with external contractors where required, delivering primary data collection activities including quantitative activities such as surveys and qualitative activities such as interviews and focus groups with service users, internal colleagues and external partners.
You will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating the communication of evaluation findings through the staff intranet, public facing website and other new and existing communication channels where appropriate, providing updates on externally commissioned research and evaluation findings which could inform the design and delivery of UK services

This role might be for you if…

  • You have experience working within a research or evaluation team or environment, either professionally or academically
  • You are familiar with research methods and their application in a range of social and economic policy contexts
  • You can demonstrate a proven ability to work to very tight deadlines in a dynamic environment, with often changing and competing priorities
  • You have experience working to plans and managing multiple concurrent projects and activities and of tailoring written and oral communication to different audiences
  • You are confident with visual presentation of data analysis and reporting
  • You can demonstrate the ability to analyse quantitative data and an understanding of approaches to qualitative research

  • It would be advantageous if you have experience using online survey software and quantitative and qualitative analysis software along with knowledge of the government, statutory and voluntary sectors in which the British Red Cross works in the UK
