SALARY: £22,984

HOURS: 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri)

About this role

Are you looking for your first, or next step into the world of estates and facilities? Estates and Facilities look after a range of areas from security and daily cleaning and mail services, to small building projects and creating and sustaining a safe and healthy environment for our students, staff and visitors.

Our busy RA Estates team has approximately 50 inhouse staff and various contracting partners. We’re a friendly bunch and we’re seeking an organised and efficient coordinator to join us and fulfil a key role in helping coordinate the various aspects of the wide-reaching department.

We perform a wide range of tasks from the support and installation of exhibitions to the development and realisation of major projects around the building – think adding a new staircase! All of which are completed swiftly and as seamlessly as possible to enable the RA to continue running day to day operations.

Reporting to the Head of Estates Operations, this role provides a great opportunity to gain key management skills, in both maintenance and support services including Health and Safety, Contract Management and support, Risk Management, Procurement and Sustainability. We want to support your development in this role and profession, so are offering the opportunity to take up this role as an apprentice if you wish to. This means you’ll study alongside your work and achieve a qualification to take you into the next stages of your career.

About you

You will be looking to start or develop your experience in Facilities Management (and we want to support you in doing this!) We will need you to be a keen and fast learner, as there will be thorough training on each of the responsibilities of the role.

The successful candidate will be exceptionally organised, with great communication skills and have a naturally numbers focused mind – you will learn lots about analytics and data. Candidates should also have an interest in the running and maintaining a visitor focused historic building. An interest in art, architecture and all things creative is beneficial, not least as you get access to some really special events and exhibitions!
