Overview of Position

Established in 1951, our client is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental partners. With 172 member states, a further 8 states holding observer status and offices in over 100 countries, our client is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Our client works to help ensure the orderly and humane management of migration, to promote international cooperation on migration issues, to assist in the search for practical solutions to migration problems and to provide humanitarian assistance to populations in need, including migrants, refugees, and internally displaced people. Under the overall supervision of the Senior Project Manager (Reintegration and Development) and direct supervision of the National Program Officer (M&E), and in close coordination with Head of Sub Office, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for field work of Labor Market Assessment (LMA) includes data collection (individual survey and Focus Group Discussion), data verification, and data transcription to support the M&E team in implementing the M&E and Learning activities planned in the European Union (EU)-funded Reintegration and Development Assistance in Ukraine (RADA) project. RADA is a 5-year project covering 8 provinces that aim to support the sustainable reintegration of returnees within their communities of return by achieving the following results: contribute to policy discussions at national and international level.

  • Activities include integrated community development projects, support to businesses, start-ups and Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
  • Activities include technical assistance, peer-to-peer capacity building and the establishment of referral mechanisms and structures such as Reintegration Information Centers at the provincial level.
  • Activities include medical and psychosocial screening and referral, temporary accommodation, and onward transportation.
  • Knowledge development: Comprehensive data collection, trend monitoring, and research contributes to an evidence base on return, reintegration and development policy and practice.
  • Activities include data collection and analysis to monitor results, impact and contextual trends, publications and roundtables contribute to policy discussions at national and international level.

Role Objectives

  • Activities include data collection and analysis to monitor results, impact and contextual trends, publications and roundtables contribute to policy discussions at national and international level.
  • Support the M&E team in the timely and effective implementation of the field work of the Labour Market Assessment in line with workplan and the stated objectives,
  • Identify, coordinate, and set time for interview with the identified entrepreneurs in the market,
  • Contact individuals by telephone or in person and explain the purpose of the interview,
  • Conduct individual survey with the identified entrepreneurs, collect the data both quantitative and qualitative in nature using pre-designed Labour Market Assessment questionnaires,
  • Conduct Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with the identified entrepreneurs; note, record, and transcribe the discussions taken place during the FGDs,
  • Ensure that all information relevant to the assessment and according to the pre-designed assessment forms is collected in a timely manner and is consistent with the information required for Labour Market Assessment,
  • Check information gathered for completeness and accuracy,
  • Undertake regular data collection from the field pertaining to the Labour Market Assessment and verify the collected data, using the triangulation approach,
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

  • Strong multi-task prioritization, organizational, coordination and time management skills
  • Familiarity with skills development activities and labour force market demand.
