General Description of the Organization:

Orange is a non-governmental civil society organization devoted to alleviating the suffering and improving the sustainability mechanisms of the conflict-affected population. Since its establishment, Orange has partners directly with affected Syrian populations delivering programs spanning sectors, including humanitarian and development programs, in the Early Recovery and Livelihoods, Food Security and agriculture, Education and Protection, WASH, and Shelter, in addition to long-term impact interventions focusing on the economic empowerment and the local value chains improvements to enable targeted communities to improve their living practices and their sustainable mechanisms. Orange collaborates with a variety of national and international non-governmental organizations, as well as local initiatives, to adopt a community-based approach that leads to improving the response’s impact on the humanitarian crisis and provides sustainable and alternative solutions.

Job Purpose:

The Livelihoods program aims to alleviate the suffering of people affected by the earthquake by providing sustainable support for micro and small businesses to contribute to the recovery of the local market in the affected areas.

The business Coach will work within the Orange team and will be supervised by the livelihood project officer to handle capacity development, registration, coaching, and follow-up of project beneficiaries. The coach is expected to provide guidance and market-related business advice to the beneficiaries.

Duties, objectives, and competencies:

  • Cooperate with the MEAL team and Market Mapping Units to identify the required training topics.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of skills training topics in coordination with the project officer and project team and ensure meeting Orange’s quality terms and conditions.
  • Ensure the coverage of the required knowledge which includes but not limited to:
  • Identify the needs of the local market
  • Support beneficiaires in the preparation of simple project proposal
  • Address the needs of their respective community in their projects
  • Improve their communication towards their respective community and customers
  • Improve their organizational capacities (administrative skills and transparency) in the management of the activities and productive assets received to support small business projects
  • Improve their awareness about the Project Cycle Management PCM
  • Improve their financial management skills through implementing the projects
  • Improve their risk analysis skills through implementing the projects
  • Improve their ability to find their career path and have a clear plan for it
  • Contribute to the procurement by submitting the purchase orders of the training requirements.
  • Deliver the training to the project participants with full adherence to Orange’s training courses terms, conditions, and quality measures.
  • Contribute the Media coverage of the conducted training in coordination with the Media officer.
  • Report the training courses process and results to the project coordinator and respond to all required enhancements set by the project officer, project coordinator, and the MEAL team.
  • Follow up with the training participants and respond to all possible enquiries and questions.
  • Engage in outreach activities related to the project (with community members, local NGOs, and private sector contacts)
  • Suggest and discuss new approaches related to skills training courses and entrepreneurship based on the evolving beneficiaries needs.
  • Work closely with the monitoring team on the timely monitoring and evaluation of relevant components – information, beneficiary selection, beneficiary feedback about activities, etc
  • Support the Preparation of Beneficiary financial data and the preparation of supporting documents folder for grant installment reception.
  • Adhere fully to the commitments and rules of Orange’s Code of Conduct

Requirements:

  • Business administration, Economy, or relevant field of study.
  • At least four years of proven work experience within the field of livelihoods and shelter with at least 2 years in livelihoods project roles in Turkey;
  • Excellent proven technical knowledge;
  • Very good understanding of the market mapping mechanisms;
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to coordinate with multiple parties and external stakeholders;
  • Sound judgement and ability to make impartial recommendations;
  • Fluency in Turkish and good English language skills (spoken, written and reading), Arabic language will be an asset.
  • Experience delivering capacity building training and materials development is preferred.
