About the consultancy:
SJAC is seeking an interpreter to provide English to Arabic and Arabic to English simultaneous interpretation services on an ad hoc basis. The consultant will be responsible for interpreting live meetings and events through Zoom or a similar platform. Candidates must have experience interpreting legal, human rights, and transitional justice related events.
General Duties:
- Provide interpretation for SJAC’s staff meetings and live events.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience in professional English to Arabic and Arabic to English interpretation.
- Ability to provide high quality simultaneous interpretation.
- Familiarity in interpreting technical content, especially related to the Syrian conflict, human rights, and/or international law.
- Full professional fluency in Arabic with exceptional grammar.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Knowledge of the Syrian conflict is preferred.
