Engineering Intern

GENERAL DESCRIPTION At Tyonek, we’re looking for engineering students who want to work with both hardware and software design to support the defense of our nation. We need students that have a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and troubleshooting skills. Interns will be in-person and full time (40-hours) during the summer break from May to August. The start and end dates are flexible based on semester end and start datesDUTIESCreate, update, maintain, and execute test proceduresDocument process and all testing dataWork closely with engineer on hardware and test software designProblem Solve/Debug/TroubleshootFamiliar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.Performs a variety of tasks.Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.Other Duties as AssignedEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or Equivalent.3rd or 4th year student pursuing a degree in electrical, computer, or software engineering preferred – expected graduate in 2023 or 2024Programming in C; C++ and Java a plusExperience with Testing PCB and Electronic SystemsExperience with Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Multi-metersGood working knowledge of MS Office software.Creative mind to troubleshoot, find and resolve problems.Must be a US citizenWe maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
