What You’ll Be Able To Do

  • Lead problem solving to assist plants and implementation teams in resolving tooling, equipment and conveyor performance issues and downtime
  • Coordinate resources to find root cause and fixes, manage and breakdown problems into items that can be validated. Determine accurate validation methods
  • Handle setup and maintenance of industrial bar code printers
  • Apply sound knowledge design and implement vision control systems. Familiar with different type of vision cameras and their programming software. Continuously evaluate equipment for improvement for quality and delivery
  • Use FIS plant monitoring software to review cycle times of equipment, review and follow-up project installations
  • Reprogram equipment for engineering changes and improvements
  • Update program backups for machinery and automation
  • Program new installations of automation, machinery, material handling, and robots
  • Review risk assessments and evaluate equipment safety
  • Assist in training manufacturing personnel and plant electricians
  • Read and modify electrical prints and schematics, Auto CAD
  • Maintain familiarity with OA, CPN/MPN networks and communication protocols for connecting to wireless and wired networks
  • Lead installation and maintenance of virus protection software for controls network PCs, perform PC backup disc images and installation of communication and firmware and controls software
  • Become familiar with GPTS, QLSCM part information collection systems, and FIS and keep updated

The Minimum Requirements We Seek

  • Associates degree in engineering and 2 years of experience or a HS diploma or GED and 5+ years of experience
  • 5 or more years of Controls Engineering experience in manufacturing environment

Our Preferred Requirements

  • Electrical background (electrician or technician) preferred
  • Familiar with PLC/CNC (Siemens/ Allen-Bradley), VFD, Servo, Profinet and ABB Robots
  • Experience with error proofing, cameras (Cognex, GigE) and air logic (Festo valves)
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
  • Lean Tools – 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping experience
  • Understanding of 8D, FMEA, and DMAIC processes
