Position Description

As an Engineer I (Process/Electrical/Industrial) you will be responsible to provide engineering support to medical device development projects from design through production phase.

  • Understand and follow Applied Medical’s Quality Systems (QS)
  • Design, investigate, develop and qualify new manufacturing processes, fixtures and equipment.
  • Perform sustaining, development, analysis, evaluation, testing and troubleshooting of finished devices, electrical systems and their respective components, sub-assemblies and test fixtures.
  • Develop, qualify and update engineering documents such as manufacturing instructions, drawings, FMEA’s and test methods.
  • Write test protocols and reports, conduct various testing, collect and analyze data and trends
  • Perform root cause analysis, propose and implement corrections and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team for equipment selection, design and development
  • Collaborate with the Production team to identify capabilities and capacity

Position Requirements

This Position Requires The Following Skills And Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Biomedical, Industrial, System or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Familiar with electronic lab equipment
  • Must have a technical aptitude and be detail-oriented
  • Ability to develop and improve instructions, procedures, and other manufacturing documentation to improve manufacturing performance
  • Ability to perform and analyze process validations activities such as IQ/OQ/PQ
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet strict deadlines

Preferred

  • Experience in engineering (i.e. internships or co-ops)
  • Proficient at reading schematics (i.e. Altium)
  • Working knowledge of PCBA troubleshooting and a variety of electronic circuits
  • Engineering projects related to manufacturing or medical devices
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Understanding of manufacturing and quality standards, including FDA regulations and ISO quality systems
