The Danish Red Cross (DRC) is looking for an Engagement and Communication Advisor to join its newly established Humanitarian Innovative Finance Hub. The Hub is dedicated to the design and development of alternative financing models that leverage various financial mechanisms (e.g., blended finance, impact bonds, etc) tailored for national societies across the Red Cross Red Crescent (RCRC) movement.
Do you have a good understanding of innovative finance mechanisms and can you simplify complex and highly technical jargon easy to understand for everyone? Can you engage and cooperate with Red cross/Red Crescent National Societies and ensure their involvement in the Hub? Can you adapt your communication skills to different audiences regardless of their background?
If you can answer yes to the above and picture yourself part of a global team of experts supporting the Red Cross/Red Crescent movement in moving the agenda of alternative financing, through direct support, dissemination of knowledge and learnings on financial instruments for humanitarian action, then this job is for you.
Position description As a communication and engagement advisor, you will:
- In collaboration with the Hub´s team and DRC, develop and implement an effective internal and external communication and engagement strategy
- Develop a branding and outreach strategy for the Hub for partners across the Movement and beyond
- Spread knowledge about the Hub among National Societies and ensure their involvement
- Lead and support communication plans and processes on specific financial products to ensure the right engagement and commitment from National Societies
- Write, edit, and distribute content that communicates the Hub´s services and accomplishments
- Share learnings on innovative finance mechanisms in relevant fora
- Manage social media communities
- Assist the director in planning and facilitating the board meetings
- Support fundraising and promote the Hub´s expertise as well as devising a business plan
About you
- Min 5 years of relevant experience in an engagement and communication role
- A solid knowledge about and experience from the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement
- Proven experience in leading processes and strong involvement of stakeholders
- · Highly proficient in spoken and written English
- A structured mindset and excellent planning and coordination skills

A full toolbox ready to be used to build audiences and engagements from a very diverse array of stakeholders

Proficiency in content management system, and social media platforms

The Danish Red Cross HQ is located in Copenhagen. You will work closely with the International Department and will refer to the Head of Global Partnerships.
The Communication Officer position is a full-time position of 37 working hours per week.
Salary and employment conditions will comply with Danish Red Cross’s collective bargain agreement with HK and AC and will be between DKK 46,500.00 and 48,500.00 including allowances and pension depending on experience and qualifications.
