Job Description And Duties

Do you have a passion for helping people and enjoy working with a diverse population? We are seeking a flexible individual that is self-driven, creative, and customer focused to assist customers and work cooperatively with local partners in the America’s Job Center of California.

Under supervision, the Employment Program Representative (EPR) works in an integrated Workforce Services (WS) environment to assist customers through the delivery method of self-service, facilitated self-help and staff assisted services. The EPR analyzes the needs of the customer to increase the range of services available, promotes the Employment Development Department (EDD) and WS programs and/or services, facilitates various Job Search related workshops, and/or provides Individualized Career Services. The EPR utilizes and markets California’s labor exchange system, CalJOBS?, to help job seekers and employers navigate the state’s workforce services system. The EPR is responsible for recording a range of no-cost employment and training services offered in partnership with State and local agencies and organizations through the America’s Job Center of California? (AJCC) into the CalJOBS system.

Per the Governor’s Office of California, the Employment Development Department is considered an essential department. This position requires local in-person workload, though some telework may be available. This position’s office follows the recommended safety guidance from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Center of Disease Control (CDC).

Travel may be required with this position.

Statement Of Qualifications (SOQ)

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required. To be considered for the position, applicants must submit an SOQ along with their application. The SOQ is a narrative discussion of how your education, training, experience, and skills qualifies you for the position. The SOQ serves as documentation of each candidate’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. SOQs must have both first and last name, be no more than two (2) pages in length. In the SOQ, provide specific examples addressing the following, in the order listed below and each response must be numbered to clearly indicate which statement you are responding to. Failure to follow these instructions may disqualify you from the selection process.
