The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis (Bank) is seeking to fill a full-time Attorney or Senior Attorney position within its Legal Division. Legal Division attorneys regularly advise Bank management on legal matters and interact with attorneys from other Federal Reserve Banks and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. This position requires being onsite in the Minneapolis office on a regular basis, although some remote work/hybrid work arrangements may be possible.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis (Bank) is seeking candidates with at least two years’ experience practicing employment law, to fill a full-time Attorney or Senior Attorney role in its Legal Division. A primary responsibility of this role is to work closely with the Bank’s Human Resources and Inclusion Division and advise on employment law issues. The individual will also practice in a variety of other in-house subject areas such as procurement/contracts, intellectual property and other general corporate matters, as well as matters more specific to the Federal Reserve, such as banking regulation, discount window lending, and support for our research, Treasury, and payment system risk functions. Legal Division attorneys regularly advise Bank management on legal matters and interact with attorneys from other Federal Reserve Banks and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate degree required and must be admitted to practice law in the state of Minnesota. (To be considered for the senior attorney must have 4+ plus years of experience)
  • Some prior legal experience or judicial clerkship preferred.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent analytical abilities along with sound legal and business judgment. Excellent communication skills.

  • This position qualifies for a hybrid working arrangement that supports remote work but requires regular on-site attendance

  • This position requires access to confidential supervisory information and/or FOMC information, which is limited to “Protected Individuals” as defined in the U.S. federal immigration law. Protected Individuals include, but are not limited to, U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and U.S. permanent residents who either are not yet eligible to apply for naturalization or who have applied for naturalization within the requisite timeframe. Candidates who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents may be eligible for the information access required for this position and sponsorship for a work visa, and subsequently for permanent residence, if they sign a declaration of intent to become a U.S. citizen and meet other eligibility requirements. In addition, all candidates must undergo applicable background checks and comply with all applicable information handling rules, and all non-U.S. citizens must sign a declaration of intent to become a U.S. citizen and pursue a path to citizenship
