This is an exciting time to join the Torus Group as the organisation is undergoing huge transformation that will modernise the way we work and deliver services to our customers.

The People Services team supports the Group with its people agenda, to ensure that the Group operates efficiently and effectively to deliver its Vision and Corporate Plan.

We are looking to recruit an experience people professional who has extensive experience of dealing with high volumes of complex employee relations cases on a fixed term contract for 6 months. Working within the realms of our policies and procedures, you will provide advice and support to managers across the group on absence, discipline, grievance and performance management cases at a fast pace.

This Is An Important Role In Which You Will

  • Ensure the effective implementation of People Services policies, to reflect the vision, values, and strategic aims of the Company. Actively contribute to the ongoing development of People Services Policies through consultation and participation in regular reviews.
  • Provide a professional People service in relation to recruitment and retention, performance, conduct, remuneration, retirement, and absence.
  • Ensure People Services advice and support is appropriate and reflects best practice in line with current or emergent employment legislation.
  • Foster constructive and positive relationships with the recognised trade unions throughout your interactions, both formal and informal.
  • Enable leaders to deliver effective people performance management utilising recognized policies, procedures, data, and systems.
  • Provide People Services support to deliver the People Strategy, Corporate plan and transformation projects as required.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will

  • Be educated to degree level or CIPD advanced Level 5 qualification and a member of the CIPD
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in delivering an effective people advisory service resulting in measurable business benefits.
  • Possess experience of supporting managers to deliver effective people performance practices, utilising recognised policies, procedures and systems.
  • Have experience of operating in a unionised environment.
  • Possess demonstrable experience of operating collaboratively with leaders and managers, building effective working relationships at all levels.
