Standards of Occupational and Environmental Health Nursing include Assessment, Diagnosis, Outcome Identification, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation, Resource Management, Professional Development, Collaboration, Research and the use of an ethical framework for decision-making. Through proper assessment, application of current standards, adequate review and follow-up, the OHN assists employees in the prevention of adverse health effects from occupational and environmental hazards and health promotion in general.What You Will Bring:EducationBachelors Nursing PreferredExperienceClinical experience and comprehensive knowledge of infection control principles.Certification & LicensuresRN Nursing License or license eligibility, in the Commonwealth of Virginia requiredBLS Certification (Basic Life Support)
  • American Heart “A< oeHealthcare Provider' (HCP)
  • AHA approved required
  • Notary Public for Virginia credentials or obtained within 90 days, unless exempt as directed by VH DirectorCOHN (Certified Occupational Health Nurse) preferred
  • New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.QualificationsAbility to provide assessment, render care and appropriate treatments to adult population Thorough knowledge of computer software used to effectively enter, track and recall data. Relevant knowledge of injured worker case management principles. Be cross-trained in all areas designated by EOHS Operations Manager. Requires a person with a positive attitude and pleasant, cooperative and professional demeanor.
