NCA Humanitarian Division is seeking additional members to the NCA External Roster within Gender-based Violence in Emergency (GBViE) responses. We are currently looking for GBViE Coordinators, GBViE Specialists, and GBViE Managers.

NCA’s Global Emergency Roster contains the various profiles of personnel needed in emergency and humanitarian situations. In the event of an emergency or humanitarian crisis, candidates who are on the Roster will be deployed to the affected country (or countries) within 48-72 hours. As a member of the GBViE External Roster you can be called upon to carry out shorter and longer missions in humanitarian settings where NCA is responding to an emergency. The NCA EPR also provides support capacity to NCA field offices and to partners within the ACT alliance. Members of the EPR sign a two-year Letter of Intent with NCA which states that within a two-year period roster members will be available to be deployed when called upon.

When considering candidates for the roster, NCA emphasize experience, professional background, availability, language skills, and personal suitability.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead rapid GBV assessments.
  • Lead and/or support implementation of comprehensive and holistic GBViE programs within NCAs humanitarian response operations.
  • Facilitate capacity building of NCA staff, partner staff and other stakeholders on GBViE, GBV Minimum Standards, GBV Case Management, Managing and Setting Up Women and Girls Safe Spaces, GBVIMS+, and Prevention activities.
  • Actively engage in GBViE related coordination mechanisms, including develop networking relationships with other NGOs and the donor community.
  • Write and/or contribute to new proposals and reports for donors.
  • Ensure high quality of financial and narrative reports related to the GBViE activities
  • Ensure that programme implementation is according to project plans and donor requirements and adheres to NCA’s routines, guidelines, and donor regulations.
  • Build the capacity of NCA and partner staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • MA (or equivalent) in social work, social sciences, gender, development, nursing or other relevant fields. Extensive field experience may compensate for a master’s degree.
  • 3 years professional experience in managing and setting up GBViE programmes, facilitating training on GBViE, GBV case management, GBVIMS, Referral pathways, and project management. Experience in managing GBViE teams and staff.
  • Knowledge of protection, human rights, public health and/or other relevant fields.
  • Relevant experience managing people, projects, and/or partners.
  • Experience working with multi-cultural and multi-national teams.
  • Experience working with different donors as well as partners.
  • Proficiency in English and French, written and oral is a requirement. Other language skills, such as, Spanish and Arabic are advantages.
  • Experience from working in challenging environments.
