Emergency Department Receptionist

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust

The post holder will have day to day responsibility for the administration of the relevant electronic Patient Information system, the Emergency Department reception area and Urgent Treatment Centre reception area. They will work as part of a friendly team providing front line administration services to the department, welcoming patients and visitors to the department, the booking in of patients and outpatient appointments, scanning and answering the telephone to both internal and external callers.

You must have relevant years of experience working in an admin and clerical role and experience of dealing with the general public and members of staff.

You must have the minimum or equivalent of GCSE Grade C or above in English and an IT qualification is desirable. A working knowledge of the hospital systems Camis/Symphony would be desirable although training and support will be offered to all successful candidates.

You will possess excellent written & verbal communication skills, the ability to work as a team member and on your own initiative and be able to prioritise your workload without compromising attention to detail.
