General context of the project
The war broke out in Ukraine in March 2022. Since then, millions of people have fled to the neighbouring countries, raising a big concern on how to manage such an immense flux of people. In order to support refugees, INTERSOS is setting up an emergency response operation in Poland, Moldova and Ukraine.
General purpose of the position
The Emergency Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing, in the area where he/she is based, Intersos operations, activities and projects.
Main responsibilities and tasks
- Managing INTERSOS Odessa base operations in terms of local Administration, Logistics and HR
- Responsible for developing and implementing INTERSOS programme and projects in Odessa region
- Coordinate and supervise the timely and quality submission of reports to donors
- Represent INTERSOS in relevant meetings
Required profile and experience
Education: Relevant higher education
Professional Experience
- 2 years experience in similar positions, in an emergency contexts
- Experience in a volatile environment
- Previous experience in assessment missions / base opening is a strong asset
Professional Requirements
- Proven managerial and representation experience
- Excellent communication skills as well as strong writing and reporting skills.
- Good adaptability and interpersonal skills
- Networking
- Knowledge of guidelines of the most common humanitarian institutional donors
Languages
- English
- Russian, or Ukrainian preferable
Personal Requirements
- Autonomous and proactive
- Ability and readiness to work under pressure and dealing with difficult and complex conditions
- Stress management
