Supervision of: Emergency team

Dependents: Non-family duty station

General context of the project

The war broke out in Ukraine in March 2022. Since then, millions of people have fled to the neighbouring countries, raising a big concern on how to manage such an immense flux of people. In order to support refugees, INTERSOS is setting up an emergency response operation in Poland, Moldova and Ukraine.​

General purpose of the position

The Emergency Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing, in the area where he/she is based, Intersos operations, activities and projects.

Main responsibilities and tasks

  • Managing INTERSOS Odessa base operations in terms of local Administration, Logistics and HR
  • Responsible for developing and implementing INTERSOS programme and projects in Odessa region
  • Coordinate and supervise the timely and quality submission of reports to donors
  • Represent INTERSOS in relevant meetings

Required profile and experience

Education: Relevant higher education​

Professional Experience

  • 2 years experience in similar positions, in an emergency contexts
  • Experience in a volatile environment
  • Previous experience in assessment missions / base opening is a strong asset

Professional Requirements

  • Proven managerial and representation experience
  • Excellent communication skills as well as strong writing and reporting skills.
  • Good adaptability and interpersonal skills
  • Networking
  • Knowledge of guidelines of the most common humanitarian institutional donors

Languages

  • English
  • Russian, or Ukrainian preferable

Personal Requirements

  • Autonomous and proactive
  • Ability and readiness to work under pressure and dealing with difficult and complex conditions
  • Stress management
