JOB CONTEXT:
HI is re-opening a two-country program covering Ukraine and Moldova. In Ukraine, HI aims at intervening in the West and East of the country, adapting modalities of intervention to the various and diverging contexts of implementation. Aligning itself with the priorities of the Ukraine Flash Appeal, HI pillars of interventions are the following:
- Health: HI aims to improve access to quality physical rehabilitation and mental health and psychosocial services (MHPSS) for conflict-affected vulnerable population. To this extent, HI will conduct direct health service provision to persons with injuries or disabilities while also strengthening the capacity of existing health structures.
- Protection: Recent and ongoing attacks dangerously exacerbated Explosive Ordnance (EO) contamination in Ukraine, HI will conduct a multi-pronged approach to EO risk education, adaptable to the evolution of the conflict and humanitarian. In addition, HI will not only ensure that persons with disabilities receive tailored services throughout its intervention, but will also foster a disability- inclusive humanitarian response. Additionally, HI will guarantee protection mainstreaming and referrals to multisector services for vulnerable IDPs and members of the host community.
- Basic needs: to respond to the most acute needs for displaced households hosted by the local population or living in collective centers, HI will ensure they have access to sufficient and appropriate hygiene and Non-Food Items (NFI), including tailored items responding to the specific needs of infants, older persons and persons with disabilities. To this extend, HI will tailor its intervention modalities upon household and individual needs whilst considering local market capacities in various geographical areas. An approach including in-kind donations, vouchers and/or cash-based transfer will be designed at early stage of the project, in line with the evolution of the specific context
- Humanitarian-to-humanitarian logistics: HI will propose to emergency stakeholders mutualized storage and transportation to ensure delivery of emergency in-kinds as close as possible to the most affected populations.
YOUR MISSION:
Reporting to the Senior PM, the main objective of the position is to implement and monitor the emergency basic needs projects that include hygiene kits and non-food items (NFIs) distribution, hygiene promotion activities, and rehabilitation of WASH facilities.

These responsibilities will be implemented in close collaboration with all HI program services/departments such as HR, finance, logistics, MEAL as well as the other operational managers of the emergency response and other projects.
YOUR PROFILE:
With at least 3 years of professional experience in managing projects in challenging humanitarian contexts,
•You have experience in emergency response
•You have proven managerial experience
•You are familiar with key concepts and standards in WASH and NFIs
•You have excellent communication skills as well as strong writing and reporting skills.
•You demonstrate good adaptability and interpersonal skills.
•You are autonomous and proactive.
•Oral and written English is mandatory.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION:
This position is based in Dnipro (East Hub), Ukraine.
The security situation in Dnipropetrovsk remains stable. Markets, restaurants and cafés are open and life continues as normal. There is a strict curfew from 11:30 pm to 6:00 am. There have been a few attacks by ballistic missiles since the beginning of the war on the airport, military and logistic installations in the periphery without any impact on the city center. The closest frontline is 130 km away, completely out of range for artillery or terrestrial attacks.
HI staff in Dnipropetrovsk is accommodated in shared HI guesthouses (individual rooms) in city center, near to office, restaurants, cafes, and malls within walking distance. GH standards are very good, comfortable and fully equipped.

The international contract provides social cover adapted to your situation:
- Unemployment insurance benefits for EU nationals
- Pension scheme adapted to the situation of our employees: If you already have a personal pension scheme HI will contribute at the same level of your personal monthly contribution with a maximum of 272.53€/month ; If you do not have a personal pension scheme, we will open a private pension account with your contribution of 272.53€/month and a contribution of HI of the same amount
- Medical coverage with 50% of employee contribution
- Repatriation insurance paid by HI

Salary from 2450 € gross/month upon experience
