As an Electrician at Axis Energy, you would be responsible for assisting the Construction Management team to ensure the quality, schedule, and overall implementation of the Organization’s construction philosophy. This position will require you to gain a wide range of knowledge and experience with electrical, solar specific, and general construction field management.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Execute the electrical installation of PV systems in the field, including all equipment and wiring on AC and DC sides of the system through utility interconnect
  • Utilize best practices and knowledge of NEC code (including Section 690) to ensure that systems are installed in a safe and workmanlike manner
  • Support the Construction team by providing system design recommendations and sharing general field experience with electrical PV systems
  • Interpret and communicate electrical plans to construct systems according to design specifications
  • Perform system testing, including but not limited to string voltages and currents (AC and DC), insulation tests, and all required measurements for the commissioning procedure
  • Install and program solar specific equipment such as inverters, DC and AC combiner boxes, and web-based monitoring hardware
  • Perform all work according to standard electrical safety protocols
  • Walk through systems with electrical inspectors to answer any and all questions, as well as follow up on requested punch list items
  • Assist the Construction team towards successful commissioning and energization
  • Interface with the Project management team to resolve design and schedule issues
  • Provide feedback to the Project Management team to continually improve design methodologies, installation requirements and project drawings

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Physics or equivalent experience preferred
  • General understanding of physical, electrical, and structural construction plans
  • Experience with the National Electric Code as it pertains to solar PV system design
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work well with others in a construction environment
  • Self-motivated
  • Honest, reliable, self-aware and conscientious
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong planning, organization and prioritization skills

The Electrician reports directly to the Construction Manager. This is a full-time travel position located within the state of Southeastern US.
