Position Overview
Supports electrical maintenance group as the last stop authority for troubleshooting production equipment as well as work with the Electrical Engineer to plan, initiate, and perform electrical engineering activities for major projects. This person will work directly with ESAB electricians as needed and work solo troubleshooting production equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure all designs are safe, operational, and meet Environmental Health & Safety requirements.
- Work on the shop floor resolving electrical issues and supporting the off shifts as required. This individual will work solo as well as with electricians.
- Coordinate activities of maintenance team or outside contractor personnel with participating departments for various projects to assure optimal repair and installation timelines.
- Start-up and trouble-shoot new or redesigned equipment.
- Provide training to operators and maintenance personnel.
- Participate with multi-functional teams to solve production problems.
- Must be team worker, self-motivated, innovative; have well-disciplined engineering habits; be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and verbally.
- Other duties as assigned.

Language Capabilities
- English
Education Requirements
- Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in electrical field required if individual does not have an Associates Degree
Technical Requirements
- Ability to work with Electrical Engineer to create, modify, and maintain electrical drawings.
- Create, modify, and maintain various PLC, and drive programs for production equipment.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to pass the necessary information to customers, employees, vendors, departments, and contractors.
- Must be able to work in a team environment cordially and effectively.
- Must exhibit a high level of flexibility and an ability to multi-task at all times.
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
- Must possess good reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Working knowledge of AutoCad LT preferred but not required.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of five years experience in electrical technician role in manufacturing setting required if individual does not have an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
- Working knowledge of Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLC’s. Understanding of various other PLC and drives also preferred.
- Experience in AC & DC drive controls including troubleshooting and root cause problem diagnosis also preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCad LT preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; this position will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

- Travel – up to 15%
