We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in the Northwest. The successful candidate for the Electrical Engineering position will work under the supervision of the Managing Electrical Engineer and will perform electrical design for a variety of municipal projects. Extensive experience with water and wastewater infrastructure design is desired. This position is reserved for individuals that can demonstrate an ability to work independently, successfully adhering to project standards while adhering to delivery schedules and budgets on multiple simultaneous projects.

Your Role

  • Provide technical guidance during Client meetings; Reasonably estimate level of effort required to perform electrical design tasks;
  • Independently perform project management tasks;
  • Electrical systems planning, design and calculations;
  • Develop detailed electrical and control schematics;
  • Design medium and low-voltage power systems, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, fire alarm, security, telephone /data systems, wireless communications and other low-voltage systems;
  • Prepare project-specific technical specifications, using CSI Master Format and UFGS;
  • Meet project schedules and perform work within budgetary constraints;
  • Prepare status reports, basis-of-design descriptions, project manuals, responses to client comments, memoranda of understanding, and other project-related documentation;
  • Perform technical presentations in group settings and interviews;
  • Accurately estimate electrical construction costs at various levels of project development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, from an ABET accredited program
  • 15+ years of experience in a consulting engineering role;
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Washington required, or ability to obtain via comity;
  • Electrical Administrator’s License (desirable)
  • Project Management experience, PMI (PMP) certification desirable;
  • BICSI (RCDD) Certification desirable;
  • Experience in permitting and coordination with Utility providers;
  • Ability to lead project teams on large projects, effectively working with engineering staff;
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills;
  • Ability to confidently perform technical presentations in group settings and interviews;
  • In-depth understanding of NEC and other regulations associated with construction of new and renovated buildings;
  • Experience with power systems analysis software (e.g., SKM Power*Tools, ETAP, Easypower, AmpCalc) and design of substations and medium voltage distribution systems;
  • Experience with the design of various facilities (primarily water and wastewater facilities, with additional experience desired in designing vehicle maintenance facilities, offices, laboratories, and military facilities);
  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license
