The successful candidate is responsible for component design for our filter products.

The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking an Electrical Engineer to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Mesa, AZ.

The key responsibilities of this Electrical Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepares designs, drawings and specifications. Assists in generation of layouts.
  • Disassembly of completed assemblies for troubleshooting electrical faults.
  • Interfaces with other departments for manufacturing support including production electrical testing, electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, and testing of sample parts.
  • Experience with the following technologies: Transient suppression devices, -L-C filter networks.
  • Coordinate the manufacturing of customer prototypes.
  • Work with the test lab to use and understand testing for insertion loss, capacitance, insolation resistance and inductance.
  • Perform the functions required to process estimate requests and marketing product requests.
  • Review customer documents for compliance with AAO documents and if necessary prepare new designs to conform to these documents.
  • Keep supervision informed of status of all activities on a periodic basis.
  • Works closely with the BDM and Product Managers of various Business Units.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of an Electrical Engineer at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience.
  • Understanding of Electrical Capacitor and inductor component design.
  • Familiarity with Soldering processes and solder joint failure modes.
  • Familiarity with electrical contact design.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, PTC Creo, Windchill, P-Spice or similar electrical simulation software is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to maintain dedicated focus on intricate details of engineering designs.
  • Willingness to contribute extra effort in support of critical business opportunities.
  • Sitting and typing for long periods of time.
  • Willing to travel.
