The right candidate will
- Work on electrical design, assembly, and commissioning of continuous casting equipment for the metals industry.
- Design and implementation of PLC Level 1 control systems based on project requirements or functional descriptions, SMS standards and similar reference projects.
- Participation in integration testing of new and existing control systems with project teams and customers.
- Assist with testing and inspections on equipment sent to our shop for repair.
- Perform condition based monitoring and analysis at customers’ sites using a variety of sensors and data acquisition systems.
- Work on the assembly of electrical components including wiring control panels, building custom boxes using embedded computers, soldering, and assembling cables.
- Create technical documentation including engineering drawings, reports, and user manuals.
- Establish relationships with our customers and serve as a point of contact for technical support.
- Provide commissioning, training and field service for our customers as required .
What You’ll Need
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Engineering Technology or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with relevant experience. We will also consider other backgrounds for the right candidate.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness to work both hands-on and in an office environment.
- Experience in CAD, SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or AutoCAD Electrical is a plus.
- Experience with Siemens TIA Portal or Rockwell RSloigx5000, HMI programming, C++, VBA is a plus.
- Familiarity with motors, motor control, and variable frequency drives.
- MS Office Suite proficiency, especially Excel.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.
- Willingness to travel occasionally. Travel is typically less than 20%.
- The ability to understand mechanical and hydraulic controls.
