We are currently hiring an Electrical Engineer in support of our growing business operations in Southern California.

Our team provides a wide range of electrical and controls engineering services across water distribution and treatment facilities, primarily working with municipalities. We are seeking an individual with strong electrical and power engineering background to support our increasing project demands and load.

The successful candidate is expected to work efficiently and independently, while paying attention to details. Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance for clients as well as internal teammates is also expected. Design experience is to be in the utility and power industry, specifically including MV and LV distribution. Experience within a California public utility environment is also a plus.

Your Role

Responsibilities include developing, preparing and supporting:

  • Electrical engineering design work on assigned projects
  • Design schedules and budgets
  • Management update on project progress reports
  • One-line diagrams
  • Power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash analysis)
  • Protective relay settings and calculations
  • Control panel layouts and system interconnects
  • Grounding and bonding systems
  • Protective relay and metering
  • Electrical schematics (AC/DC)
  • Equipment layouts and sectional views
  • Connection Diagrams
  • Bill of Materials
  • Cable & Conduit Schedules
  • Adherence to hazardous area classification codes and standards
  • Project construction, start-up, and commissioning
  • Meeting attendance with clients
  • Quality control reviews
  • Development of technical proposals
  • Ultimate approval and authority as Engineer of Record for assigned projects
  • Estimation for engineering budget and schedule

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS (Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering) + 5-15 years of related experience
  • Occasional Travel
  • Valid Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in California, or the ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Strong familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, etc).
  • AutoCAD/Revit Design-Drafting Experience
  • Power systems analysis software experience (Etap) a plus
