RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

Project Management

  • Support programme manager by managing and supervising assigned education and PSS project activities independently with minimal supervision.
  • Responsible for project`s progress in assigned areas of operations.
  • Management of multiple education teams in coordination with the programme manager.
  • Assistance with project development.
  • Supervision of the two-school supervisors.
  • Assist project manager with reporting (weekly and monthly reports).
  • Writing of reports, preparing spreadsheets.
  • In coordination with the PM, communicate and coordinate with partners on potential referrals.

 

Technical Support

  • In consultation with global EiE advisors, develop and regularly update technical guidelines and tools (PSS manual, awareness materials, non-formal education curricula, etc.) to ensure that PIN education programming is in line with relevant global best practices, and evolves over time based on project feedback loops.
  • Provide technical trainings including PSS, TiCC, Child Protection and Referrals to PIN staff and beneficiaries. Monitor skills development as a result of these an update training tools / approaches to ensure maximum uptake and impact.
  • Provide feedback and advice to improve the quality of psychosocial and education activities.
  • Inform the overall project’s education strategy.
  • Contribute to the formulation of a gender-responsive and disability inclusive curriculum.

 

Education Programme Development

  • Carry out a monthly review of Education MEAL outputs (including lesson observations, pre- and post-training tests, FGDs and interviews with teachers, parents, and students, and CRM data), analyse findings and present a brief set of recommendations to the PM for improvement.

 

Reporting and Information Management

  • Coordinate the development, compilation and submission of reporting inputs for the education cluster, including: Activity Info, 4Ws. Ensure that all reporting is appropriately archived in ELO.
  • Ensure timely reporting on project activities and support programme management in formulation of mid-term and final reports to donor.
  • Ensure that all activities verification materials for reporting are collected and archived.

 

Liaison with Education Authorities

  • In coordination with the PM, ensure that open and constructive communication is established and maintained between PIN and relevant education authorities at all levels (Ministry of Education, Council of Ministers, Directorate of Education, BRHA).
  • In coordination with the PM, facilitates coordination and approvals efforts with MoE and DoE at national and local level, and ensure that all relevant approvals and permissions are archived in ELO.
  • Coordinate the development, compilation and submission of reporting for all education projects to relevant DoE and MoE departments.
  • Report regularly to the PM on developments related to education authorities liaison, including immediately informing in case of any developments which could negatively affect access to areas of operation or project implementation.
  • Develop and regularly a contact list of relevant focal points within national and local education authorities across all areas of operation.

 

 

The Employer stipulates the right to assign the Employee any other kind of work derived from his specialization. In case of urgent work and such like the Employee may be asked to work overtime as well as during public and other holidays.

 

In case that larger number of different tasks is to be fulfilled by the Employee at the same time, the Employee shall accomplish the urgent and more important duties first.

 

 

OBLIGATIONS:

The Employee is obligated to ensure the following:

 

  • Adhering to all PIN policies and procedures at all times including those stipulated in National Staff Handbook, Child Protection Policy, Security Standard Operating procedures, etc.
  • Punctual attendance to work including both working hours in the assigned office and schedule field trips if applicable
  • Ensuring timely and effective delivery of tasks
  • Correctness and completeness of given tasks
  • Prompt providing of all relevant information to their supervisor
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information gained from employment within not publically available
  • Archiving of all entrusted and acquired documents in proper manner
  • Representing and upholding the values of People in Need at all times
  • Behave in appropriate manners at all times and in all places

 


Qualifications & Preferred Skills

 

  • Bachelor degree
  • More than 4 years of work experience
  • Advanced English is required
  • Arabic is required
  • Relevant educational and/or professional background in Education and Psychosocial Support
  • Strong coordination skills with proven ability to work across multiple technical areas simultaneously supporting multiple staff members
  • Experience in delivering training on education and designing training curricula
  • Ability to write quality reports
  • Experience in monitoring the progress of the project against the targets
  • Experience in communicating with different stakeholders
  • Experience in managing teams effectively
  • Experience in working with local government and in NGOs context
  • Knowledge of Iraqi education system and of the contexts of Sinjar and Telafar
  • Experience in management of people and project management requirements
  • Fast learner and adaptable to changing and dynamic environments
  • Excellent communication skills, highly organized, result-oriented
  • Responsible and reliable
  • Ability to work under pressure, proactive and independent working style
  • Good understanding of community participation and ability to communicate with impact and respect
  • Ability to deal with complex situations and solve related issues
  • Management and supervision of the project in all targeted locations (field visits needed)
  • Coordination of activities with other stakeholders
  • Responsible for project`s progress
  • Overseeing and informing the education strategy and the correct implementation of project activities
  • Designing and develop training curricula
  • Overseeing the work of school supervisors and reporting to Programme Manager
  • Management of the financial/admin issues in coordination with the Programme Manager and the Financial Officers
  • Monitor the quality of the project`s activities in coordination with the school supervisors
  • Reporting (weekly and monthly report)
  • Prompt communication with management on implementation development
