Purpose of the Position
Under the supervision of the Education Specialist (Migration outcome Manager), the Education Officer NOA provides professional technical assistance and support for programme/project design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and administration of programme/project activities, including data analysis, progress reporting, knowledge networking and capacity building, in support of achievement of planned objectives of the work plan, aligned with education programme goals and strategy.
The Education Officer reports to the Chief Education or Education Specialist for close guidance and supervision. (Level 1 is an entry professional level and should therefore be normally used as a trainee level for the purpose of acquiring organizational knowledge of rules, regulations and processes to supplement academic and theoretical knowledge of the profession for upward mobility to higher responsibilities). Incumbents at this level are not expected to remain for an extended period of time in the post.
The Education Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the education programmes/projects through the application of theoretical and technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing and presenting technical programme information while learning organizational rules, regulations and procedures to support the development and formulation of the Education Programme within the Country Programme.

Candidates with a medium-high level of English will be attractive:
- A university degree in one of the following fields is required: education, psychology, sociology, or another relevant technical field.
- Work experience in projects to ensure educational trajectories in rural and/or urban areas, at departmental and municipal level.
- Experience in flexible educational models, inclusive approaches and/or ethno-education is desirable.
- Communication skills with different levels of coordination such as: community, institutional, municipal and departmental, as well as educational coordination entities at national level.
- Willingness and willingness to travel and work in coordination with teams, partners and beneficiary population in the territory.}
- A minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education is required.
- Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
- Candidates with intermediate or high level of English will be attractive. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
- Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
