KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Program Implementation
• Based on assessment and needs, plan capacity development events to partners organizations, government officials and other stakeholders on key education topics, monitoring and leadership.
• Work closely with Department of Education to build good coordination mechanism and ensure learning is reflected in the targeted schools.
• Support the DoEs and partners to develop education strategies tailored to the needs and context of Diyala.
• Ensure smooth and timely implementation according to the Detail Implementation Plan (DIP).
• Actively engage in sub cluster working group and share regular updates and achievements.
• Ensure inclusion of gender, Children with Disabilities CwD and minority groups in the design and the implementation of the education/ program activities.
• Support the access to quality learning environment for children.
• Activate the role of community based structures such as Parents Teachers Association PTAs and Child/ Youth Committees. Support them to lead on community initiatives that support the learning process. Ensure that these committees are representative of the community.
• Led on the coordination and communication with DoE and schools, introducing them to the project goals and objectives, obtain necessary approvals for the implementation of the project.
• Collaboration with other education officers and other departments in Diyala to ensure synergies and consistency in our programming approaches.
• Build capacity on the program’s approaches and expected results through active participation in staff training and orientation as well as full engagement in the program’s processes.
• Support the education coordinator to ensure that program budget is running per the monthly forecast.
• Follow up and monitor the activities led by partner organizations and provide precise feedback in collaboration with MEAL team.
• Provide technical support during program evaluation, baseline and end line assessment.
• Actively engage in annual program review meetings, conferences, forums and advocacy contacts.
• Compile and document success stories and case studies from the program he/she supports.
• Develop and share periodic field reports, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as per the organization’s requirement.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

 

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
• Basic education or equivalent 3 years work experience in the Education Sector.
• Work Experience with DoE and partners especially in capacity development area.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Save the Children;
• Experience with community development, working with children and schools.
• Strong understanding of the situation of the IDP-returnees-host community children (girls and boys);
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to think critically and to recommend good solutions to problems.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Advocacy and coordination skills.
• Ability to conduct outreach at the community level.
• Very good skills in English including report writing skills
• Good computer skills (MS Office, including familiarity with internet).
• Experience in community mobilization and/or relationship building
• Understand the importance of diversity and inclusion of children and adults from different minority groups, gender and Children with Disabilities CwD.
