
BGC Moncton
BGC Moncton’s education program has been met with great success and as a result, is currently seeking an individual to assume the position of Education Monitor for tutoring. The individual will lead and support educational programs, particularly academic support programs, to help youth ages 6-18 reach their full potential and break down barriers to education. They will work in collaboration with club staff and volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Completion of or pursuing post-secondary education with a combined interest in assisting youth with breaking down barriers to education.
- Successful experience as a tutor or mentor with youth in grades 1-12, from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
- Experience or interest in learning how to deliver education programs, support of children and youth, and use of technological resources.
- Passionate, confidence to take on leadership roles and innovative.
- Willing to learn and apply relationship building techniques.
- Knowledge of and experience with small group dynamics and experience in facilitation appropriate to youth and adults from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
- Strong computer skills and word processing skills.
- Ability to “think outside the box” and be creative with developing learning activities/curriculum for youth in a tutoring and life skills environment.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is essential.
This is a full time position, including hours in the afternoon and evening during the school year and hours during the day in the summer. BGC Moncton also offers a comprehensive benefits package.
