Education in Emergency Project Manager- Poltava

Reporting to: 1st: Country Representative 2nd: Humanitarian Coordinator

Main objective: The Education in Emergency PM will be responsible for the education and child protection activities under the multisectoral project implemented in Poltava, Sumy and Kharkiv, ensuring guidance to local partners, timely implementation of planned activities and performing project management duties for the activities directly implemented and/or led by AVSI Foundation.

Main tasks and responsibilities: · Provide technical direction to education team, and ensure quality result

· Manage education project budget, in coordination with the AVSI finance team and AVSI programmatic team

· Provide technical training and follow up for EIE officers and volunteer teachers on field

· Develop work plans, lead and oversee timely implementation of project activities ensuring quality outcomes

· Develop Monitoring and Evaluation Systems together with MEAL staff

· Engage with project stakeholders including consortium members for synergies and standardization of approaches

· Represent AVSI in various forums (e.g. national and state level clusters, working groups)

· Compile project reports and other written assignments as per donor requirements.

In Addition to the above tasks, the Employee could be requested to carry out any other duties related to the implementation of the above-mentioned project, as assigned by his supervisor.

Essential requirements: Education: Advance degree in Education, Social Sciences or any other relevant field

Work Experience: · Minimum 3 years working experience in project implementation working on humanitarian/recovery programs in insecure, complex and volatile environments · Minimum 3 years working experience in Education in Emergency sector

Language Proficiency: Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Required skills and experiences: Hard skills: · Sound experience in providing education in emergency technical support to a wide array of partners and facilitators · Knowledge (theory and practice) of all stages of the project cycle management · Depth of experience to conduct meetings, trainings and workshops · Excellent writing and speaking skills and ability to develop complex arguments · Technical expertise in education, youth, adolescence, peacebuilding, teacher education, socio-emotional awareness and learning · Experience with remote management, assessments and project start-ups · Sound experience in qualitative evaluation, participatory planning, stakeholder analysis and quantitative analysis · Prior knowledge and experience in using mobile data collection tools for resource-limited settings (i.e. Kobo toolbox) considered a distinguished asset · Excellent experience in report writing, both of short briefs and in-depth · Excellent organizational skill functional to perform under minimal supervision · Willingness to work under tight schedules · Aptitude to field work with ability to travel with short notice · Computer literacy with proficient use of MS Office suite (especially MS Excel)
