Orange collaborates with a variety of national and international non-governmental organizations, as well as local initiatives, to adopt a community-based approach that leads to improving the response’s impact on the humanitarian crisis and provides sustainable and alternative solutions.

Job purpose:

The role of the Education Coach is to conduct coaching sessions, supervision, and follow-up with the classroom teachers and instructors in quality education schools and education assemblies during the delivery of their tasks. The Education Coach will be a full-time staff. This position will be the core technical personnel of the education component of the project and will be based inside Syria.

Duties, objectives, and competencies:

  • Regular visits to the schools to provide technical support to the classroom teachers, instructors, and headteachers to provide instructions about education (specifically literacy and numeracy).
  • Provide assistance and support to the school personnel in order to create and apply alternative education plans for children with disabilities or functioning problems.
  • Follow up the implementation of the education activities within the standards selected by the education directorates.
  • Distribute and provide the logistics needs of the learning circles or training to the schools.
  • Provide a sufficient explanation for the education personnel about the teaching methods and lesson planning.
  • Train and support school personnel to know how to deal with children with disabilities or special needs.
  • Conduct seminars, workshops, and individual Support sessions related to education.
  • Prepare training materials and full training packages for different topics related to education. such as presentations, summaries, videos, etc.
  • Support and mentor the teachers and headteachers in the schools.
  • Keep the different records related to the education activities.
  • Conduct continuous evaluations to identify the areas of improvement and weaknesses.
  • Determine instructional methods and conduct individual support sessions, learning circles, lectures, conferences, meetings, workshops, on-job training, refresher training, and shadowing.
  • Develop different educational learning materials such as handbooks, illustration tools, media materials, visual materials, references, and resources.
  • Report on progress to the line manager about the daily and weekly activities.
  • Suggest new improvements for the implementation methods and the type of activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with education instructors in the education directorates and coordinate constantly with the education assemblies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in (Education Faculty, including all departments, Arabic Language) or any other related fields.
  • Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools.
  • Willingness to keep abreast of new techniques and concepts of safeguarding and education.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); also, E-learning software is an asset.
  • High time management skills.
  • Critical thinking and decision-making.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: the ability to speak in the presence of a huge audience, speak interpersonally with individuals, and report to management.
