About The Team

We are responsible for setting the future direction of eBay: our ambition, where we play, and how we win in the market. Our team is responsible for deeply understanding the needs of our core buyers and sellers and creating the strategies that will differentiate eBay relative to our competitors. We work very closely with product, technology, and regional business teams to ensure the strategy is translated into action across the end-to-end customer experience.

The opportunity: Manager Global Strategy (f/m/d)

This role will be based in our Bern office.

This is an outstanding opportunity to transition from a consulting career to an iconic industry leader in E-Commerce. It is a fast-paced role, with exposure to mission critical projects for eBay, offering a steep learning curve and opportunity for rapid advancement in a very collaborative work environment.

You will contribute to or independently lead complex workstreams as part of strategy project delivery and become a go-to expert for your areas of responsibility. You will work with other strategy team members and build close partnerships with a diverse set of teams spanning the whole global eBay organization e.g. Product or Marketing.

The ideal candidate is a highly analytical person with strong quantitative skills and can handle ambiguity. She/ he is a collaborative person, able to work with key partners from a diverse set of functions across the organization. Additionally, they are able to drive structured and data-based recommendations to action. And last but not least, is fun to work with and doesn’t take things too seriously.

Job requirements
Analytical skills: Ability to think objectively and identify significant themes from quantitative and qualitative data and feels comfortable in dealing with ambiguity
Quantitative skills & tools: Proficiency in business mathematics, statistics, and ability to develop comprehensive models in Excel
Collaboration: Able to build constructive and effective partnerships with a broad and diverse group of business partners
Influencing: Can present ideas and directions that lead others to action
Desire to work towards a bigger picture of things, drive real change, challenge the status quo, and persistence in spite of various obstacles and setbacks
Strong and open personality, able to work on ad-hoc task with incomplete information and willing to go the extra mile
Willingness to travel 20-40% of the time
Passion for e-commerce and technology
Highly collaborative – be fun, outgoing, and easy to work with!

Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in top tier strategy consulting required
BS/BA or Master’s degree
Proficiency in German is a strong plus
Industry experience in e-commerce/ retail, consumer goods or internet services a plus
