We are looking for an expert engineer to assume ownership of newly developed tools – one performing Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and one performing electrical and electro-optical tests of devices during manufacturing. Both tests are on large glass substrates. This position requires experience with testing equipment, knowledge of the manufacturing process and close collaboration with the engineering teams at Apple that developed the tool.

Key Qualifications
At least 5+ years of experience (10+ advantage)
Specifically – experience with inspection/test tools in production lines (preferably Display or Semiconductor fabs)
Must have a previous track record of success conducting tests, be able to process and summarize data
Must possess a high level of attention to detail with handling of samples and inspection & test data
Knowledge and experience in operation of automatic wafer probers, ATE characterization/production test solutions, electro-optical device test equipment experience with electrical testing equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, microscope, etc) – advantage
High degree of comfort in a clean room environment, bringing a proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership and get results
Experience with test implementation on wafer processing / capital equipment, medical device or test & measurement equipment is considered a plus
Experience in maintaining gauge R&R studies, golden samples, SPC
Experience with data analysis and s/w tools is preferred
Ability to work in fast paced, dynamic environment
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Description
– Run Optical Inspection and electrical&electro-optical (light-up) tests
– Report and document test results
– Work closely with Apple Santa-Clara core teams to ensure accurate and sufficient test data is being collected and available
– Troubleshoot for SW or HW issues on test equipment together with Apple SC DRIs (needs to have good understanding of the system functions and components)
– Maintain SPC control of test equipment
– Responsible for tools calibration and maintenance (incl. PM by external vendors, replacing consumable parts, etc.)
– Respond to daily fab requests (as needed)
– Train and mentor technicians and operators after receiving training from Apple Santa-Clara DRIs
Education & Experience
– BS or MS (preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or Applied Physics
