Infinera is forming a new group within the Hardware Development team, focused on Reliability & Quality Engineering. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor and established strategies to ensure robust HW product development, and help to drive execution of these strategies. Note that the DVTr Engineer will be co-located in the geography where the HW Design Engineers responsible for the given design are located (San Jose, Ottawa, Bangalore, Shanghai)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for execution of DVTr plans, top-level debug on testing issues
  • Collaborate with internal and external (lab) resources for testing setup and execution, monitor results
  • Interface & Collaborate with HW Design teams on setup and debug (troubleshooting issues during DVTr)
  • Responsible for report-outs on results and interpretation of DVTr results
  • Interface with the Systems Reliability Program Manager on prioritization, milestones and metrics

Education/Experience

  • BS/MS Mechanical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years of MDVT (Mechanical DVT) experience
  • Experience working with outside labs on Operational/Non-Operational system testing, Shock/Vibration testing
  • Familiarity with NEBS Telcordia GR-63-CORE requirements and testing execution
  • Experience with testing to GR-63-CORE using both internal and external labs
  • Strong Mechanical Engineering/Thermal Engineering experience with complex Opto-electronics systems is beneficial
  • Strong interface skills need for working with cross-functional teams (HW Development Engineering, Firmware Engineering, Operations, External suppliers).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed
