Amentum / Macfadden is seeking a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) Data Analyst to support USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) in Washington, DC or REMOTE.

USAID’s Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) leads and coordinates the U.S. Government’s humanitarian assistance efforts overseas in response to natural disasters and protracted crises. The bureau also supports early recovery efforts that restore and protect basic systems and services and invests in risk reduction programs that prevent or reduce risks associated with chronic and recurrent hazards. Macfadden serves as an Institutional Support Contractor to USAID, where day-to-day work assignments and oversight are provided by BHA office directors, deputy office directors, or technical leads, with formal supervisory and evaluation functions performed by a Macfadden contract supervisor.

The DEIA Data Analyst will:

  • Be assigned to (Humanitarian Business and Management Operations) HBMO’s DEIA Team.
  • Help advance BHA’s DEIA human resources strategy by coordinating, monitoring, and analyzing data related to DEIA strategic goals.
  • Assist the DEI Team Lead with developing, utilizing, and completing reports, presentations, and surveys that support BHA’s ability to measure its progress towards its strategic goals.
  • Work with other members of the DEIA team to contribute to initiatives and special projects, advance recruiting, retention, talent development, and performance management efforts for BHA staff.
  • Be given daily guidance and direction by the DEIA Team Lead, with formal supervisory functions performed by a Macfadden contract supervisor.
  • Gather and analyze statistical information via survey design and administration, focus groups, and/or other methodologies, to include discerning stakeholders to collect data from and what metrics to include.
  • Perform in-depth data analytics, including quantitative, statistical, and comparative analysis, to determine patterns and recognize trends.
  • Advise supervisor, leadership, and other stakeholders on recommended actions based on data analysis and interpretation.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and storytelling for staff, DEIA stakeholders, and/or leadership based on data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Translate DEIA data into meaningful, actionable narratives for general audiences.
  • Serve as a source of knowledge and make recommendations as a data expert relating to DEIA.
  • Using data visualization techniques, create and maintain an internal dashboard on DEIA data and demographics for internal use.
  • Consult with supervisor, staff, leadership, monitoring and evaluation experts, and various DEIA actors to establish and continually refine dashboard criteria.
  • Support the development and refinement of performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of activities supporting BHA’s DEIA Strategic Plan.
  • Conduct research and benchmarking on key initiatives.
  • Conduct ad hoc DEIA reporting and analysis based on departmental needs.
  • Provide training on reporting tools for BHA staff as applicable.
  • Participate in projects involving proper data controls and procedures as applicable.
  • Ensure standardization of DEI data definitions, calculations, and internal and external DEI data access guidelines.
  • Understand and stay up to date on current research in the field of DEI.
  • Collaborate with others to contribute to special projects related to DEIA.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Facility Access Clearance (FAC) or Secret Security Clearance issued by the US Government for the duration of your employment on this contract.

Education:

  • Must have at least 6 years of directly related experience with a Master’s degree, 8 years of directly related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 10 years of directly related experience without a degree. Additional advanced degrees may be used to replace years of experience.

Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience with strategic initiative project management, process and performance improvement or project management, HR metrics, DEI metrics, business data analytics, and/or reporting metrics.

Skills:

  • Must have analytic, data visualization, and project management skills.
  • Requires the ability to routinely manage large data sets.
  • Must have experience in monitoring, data gathering, and producing DEIA dashboards.
  • Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Must have flexibility to work additional hours, as necessary.
  • Requires strong problem solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency with BigSquare, Tableau, or other data visualization tools, as well as viDesktop and HTML.
