Lonza in Visp is undergoing a large transformation towards establishing one of the largest integrated Biotech sites in Europe. On top of supporting the growth agenda, there is a constant challenge to drive improvements and increase efficiency following lean principles. The services and infrastructure provided by the Shared Infrastructure teams need to be regularly reviewed to ensure they are fit for purpose and addressing the requirements of the Divisions in line with benchmarks and best practice.

The Director Program Management – Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (m/w/d) is responsible to define and implement dedicated improvement and transformation programs on site, hands-on from start to finish. In this role the incumbent will manage senior stakeholders up to EC level, lead cross-functional project teams and ensure successful implementation of program goals and realization of expected benefits. As an expert in Lean methodologies and tools and based on extensive operational experience, the Director Program Management & Operational Excellence will also be responsible to establish a lean mindset and embed the standard methodology across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify areas of improvements/ business cases and align priorities with Shared Infrastructure (SI) Leadership Team.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement across divisions and establish and lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Deliver projects and programs in line with business needs and ensure sustainable improvements and realization of benefits.
  • Assure alignment and drive synergies with other programs & initiatives.
  • Establish Lean standards and mindset and embed them across the SI organization acting as role model, coach and sparring partner.
  • Connect with external peers in industry to derive benchmarks and enable learning from best practices.
  • Establish and further develop a network of Lean change agents across SI.

Key Requirements

  • University Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Sciences
  • Fluent in both German and English (mandatory)
  • A minimum of 10-year experience in the field of Lean/ Operational Excellence (at least at Black Belt level)
  • A minimum of 10-year experience in a leading Operations/ Manufacturing role
  • Track record in execution of complex transformation projects in fast-paced environments
  • Can-Do attitude and hands-on approach to make change happen on the ground in close connection with the organization
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen and political savviness
  • Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills across multiple levels of a multinational organization
  • The position is located on-site in Visp
