Director of Training

OMNI has been retained by FosterAdopt Connect in the search and selection for a Director of Training to provide overall leadership for the Training department across all branch locations. Specifically, this position ensures the Training department has the proper controls, policies and procedures, and people systems in place to effectively operate.

Based in Independence, Missouri, FosterAdopt Connect works with children, youth, and families as they navigate the complexities of the child welfare system. Their mission is to provide foster and adoptive children a stable, loving and nurturing family environment by support and advocacy for abused and neglected children and the families caring for them.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Vice President of Family Programs, primary duties include:

  • Supervise program staff resulting in the implementation of quality service delivery.
  • Identify, develop, and implement agency-wide employee training.
  • Research relevant subject areas of training interest to Caregivers with a goal of 6 new trainings created annually.
  • Ensure staff receive training on all Council on Accreditation (COA) annual requirements, including federal, state, and local laws and process of identifying and reporting cases of suspected abuse and neglect.
  • Maintain strong relationships with partner agencies and community stakeholders to increase program referrals.
  • Occasionally travel within Missouri and Kansas to conduct trainings and agency presentations.
  • Measure the effectiveness of the program, both internal and external.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of service improvement as identified by FosterAdopt Connect’s internal PQI process.
  • Oversee budget performance for program services to meet budget expectations.
  • Provide timely required information for LINC billing.
  • Assist with grant planning and execution as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, public administration, or a related human services field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of management experience working in non-profit social service agencies.
  • Previous experience with the foster/adopted population preferred with knowledge of child welfare practice and policy.
  • Demonstrated ability working with at-risk populations required.
  • Understanding of program development, implementation and evaluation.
  • Solid commitment to the principles of support and advocacy for foster and adoptive families.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic professional teams.
  • Experience working with marginalized communities with a nuanced understanding of systemic oppressions.
