Careem became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Uber Technologies, Inc. in January 2020!!About The RoleCareem is looking for a Director of IT Engineering who can provide transformative leadership and hands-on technical engineering and ownership of the growing IT, Digital transformation and Engineering program, across Careem.You will work closely with our Engineering, Human Resources, Finance and Product Management groups to help build robust systems responsible for serving our customers and colleagues.You will have the opportunity to learn from, and be mentored by, those who are building and our cutting-edge technology and digital transformation services.What You’ll Be Accountable ForDesign and implement a comprehensive digital transformation strategy to deliver continuous improvements on our Care technology, corporate applications, on-premise infrastructure, network and systemsInform and oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy for IT and Digital transformationDevelop and execute robotic process automation (RPA) and intelligence automation to drive the digital transformation strategyDevelop and execute strategy in partnership with Cyber team and execute zero trust architecture model to secure the endpointsPartner cross-functionally with key business partners to influence and ensure alignment and support for the IT Architecture, IT Engineering and IT operations mandateAlign and collaborate with fellow leaders of our Engineering, Fusion Center Operations and Risk on a strategy to support their functions with technical solutions and expertiseResearch, evaluate, and recommend security technologies that can be applied to technology solutions being developed or maintained internally or externallyOversee all technology operations and evaluate them according to established goalsDevise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by CIOAnalyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needsDevelop, mentor, and lead a high-performing staff of information technology expertsEstablish team for automationSome travel required for work with the leadership team, possibly for customer briefings, planning and other activitiesWhat We’re Looking ForB.A./B.S or equivalent work experience6+ years of progressive IT leadership and digital transformation management experience in multi-disciplinary environmentsUnderstanding and experience with the RPA strategy to drive digital transformationExpert knowledge of the network, on premise server engineering and AWS/Azure engineeringDemonstrable experience managing a IT engineering function in an organization with a large cloud footprintExperience leading an advanced threat and vulnerability management capabilityAbility to evolve security strategy based on research, data, business direction, and industry trendsDemonstrable track record as an influential leaderExperience leading digital transformation to improve customer and colleague experiencesPractical IT engineering background, with expert level knowledge of infrastructure concepts including Infrastructure Services,Network Services, Identity Services, Oracle, Workday, Genesys, etc.Solid understanding of IT and Engineering policies, standards and products, privacy rules and regulationsExperience partnering with members of the engineering communityDemonstrable track record of delivering technology solutions within tight time frames, in collaboration with multiple stakeholder groups and contending prioritiesStrategic, but also hands-on expert in managing and leading technical and non-technical PMOUse a data driven approach to drive technology posture improvements and influence decision makingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWhat We OfferWorking in an international environment with colleagues from 70+ nationalities,Entrepreneurial Culture with a strong sense of OwnershipUnlimited (paid!) holidays and the latest technologies.Flexible working schedule in a remote-first setting.
