PATH is recruiting for a Director of Finance to work closely with the Global Head of Financial, Planning, and Analysis (FP&A) and other business leaders to develop plans and operating budgets for programs and business strategies across PATH.

The Director of Finance will be responsible for driving the financial planning and budgeting activities for some business segments at PATH. This position will report to the Global Head of FP&A and will be a valued consultant to leaders. They will oversee a small global team of FP&A professionals who are aligned to divisions and responsible for providing valuable financial analysis for decision support to leaders across the organization as they plan budgets and allocate critical resources to achieve their programmatic or functional goals. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of deep financial expertise, a strategic financial planning background, and a demonstrated track record as a strong business leader. This role will provide important analysis for a long-range financial view of the institution, taking into consideration various internal and external factors to ensure financial success.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the annual budget and planning process for some business units, ensure division financial reviews, communicate with leadership and prepare presentation materials as required.
  • Develop long-range financial models related to our multi-year strategy planning cycle.
  • Analyze financial performance against forecast and plan, investigate variances, and communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Oversee management reporting of some business units at PATH.
  • Partner closely with the Global Head of FP&A to improve operational effectiveness of the department.
  • Lead other BFO and institutional projects as needed.
  • Enhance and align the FP&A Business Partner model to support programmatic divisions, allowing for a deep understanding of each division’s needs, challenges and long-term strategic priorities.
  • Perform periodic updated financial forecasts highlighting any key challenges or opportunities influencing performance to goals.
  • Analyze internal and external trends, highlight potential opportunities or challenges, and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Manage and develop a small team of FP&A professionals and effectively leverage global financial resources to accomplish goals.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field with a minimum of 10 years of professional work experience in finance required.
  • Experience in a leadership role with progressive responsibility leading teams in finance for well-established organizations required.
  • CPA or Master of Business Administration desirable.
  • Experience in the global nonprofit sector (iNGO) would be a plus.
  • Strong systems acumen. Ability to work closely with the Financial Systems team to continuously improve PATH’s overall budget and forecasting system application, including championing data structure and integrity.
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills and proficient in other Microsoft Office Suite applications including World, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to work under pressure, provide sound judgment, enabling teamwork, collaboration, and sustain momentum.
  • Global mindset with sensitivity to diverse culture/workforce and a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to persuade and influence different types of audiences (single contributor, middle management, and executive leadership).
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Must have work authorization to work in the country of application (i.e., Belgium, Switzerland, Senegal, or the United Kingdom).
