
Hopper
As Director of Air, Latin America you will be overseeing the entirety of Hopper’s Air business growth in LatAm. This means you will be responsible for strategic planning, commercial strategy and execution, team and marketplace development as well as owning and delivering on revenue goals in the region.
You will leverage your deep industry knowledge and connections in Latin America to build relationships with airlines, consolidators, GDS and third party technology providers. Additionally, you will work cross functioroduct, Data Science, Growth and Operations to ensure Hopper has a world class Air offering, the best local inventory and prices, and a properly localized marketplace. The role requires outstanding sales, management, and analytical skills, all underpinned by an entrepreneurial bent.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience in the travel industry, with 3+ years of proven leadership experience
- Strong knowledge and experience in the Latin American travel-tech industry
- Exceptional sales acumen and ability to craft and deliver compelling and data driven presentations
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including comfort with basic modeling
- Strong product instincts and understanding of online marketplace drivers
- Capacity to meet multiple objectives in an entrepreneurial and fast paced environment with minimal guidance
- Excellent prioritization and time management skills with the ability to distinguish urgent from important work
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse, field-based team
- An innovative and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving
- No ego. Strong focus on doing what is right for the customer and the company
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute on a holistic business expansion strategy for the Latin American Air marketplace
- Own and deliver on a set of revenue goals for the region
- Design and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aimed at increasing profitability and securing best in class inventory from airline partners
- Build and mentor a regionally distributed business development team
- Guide your team to own the full scope of partnership for a portfolio of airline accounts, including: cold outreach, contract negotiation and renewals, marketing funds, service funds, ticketing operations and agency support
- Cross-sell an expanding suite of products and services into different airline business teams (Distribution, Sales, Revenue Management and Marketing)Design and develop Hopper’s direct connectivity and NDC strategy in the region
- Unlock the airline segment in the region for our nascent Hopper Cloud offering
- Work with Product to effectively tailor and localize Hopper’s merchandising and offering
- Work with Growth to design and implement a comprehensive user acquisition strategy
