Director Localization Program Office

Overview

The Localization Program Office (LPO) supports the organization to develop plans to enable markets we operate in with the objective to become more local and more domestically relevant. We work with markets, product, technology, and support functions to localize any aspect of our business to reach this goal. We have a clear focus on execution and commercial outcomes, bringing together all of Mastercard to position us as a partner with governments, regulators and customers.

Role

Key accountabilities of the role are the development of localization plans for priority markets, managing the execution and post implementation. This includes:

  • Developing and managing the pipeline of markets in scope of localization, based on regulatory signals and market needs.
  • Formulating localization plans, working closely with country teams, law, technology, product / service and finance teams, integrating all available information from the market strategy, competitive intelligence with the aim to deploy any combination of Mastercard assets that enables the organization to become more locally relevant and generate value. The planning cycle includes the development of project plans with clear timelines, setting up the governance model, prioritization with internal stakeholders and obtaining the required approvals to allow the initiative to move to execution.
  • Managing the implementation and go-live phases with a focus on time to market and impact to our customers.
  • Managing the post go-live phase and evaluating performance versus stated objectives
  • Continuous engagement with markets, product, technology and law to provide regular updates, share best practices and gather inputs.
  • Developing and improving upon our localization approach to ensure solutions are replicable from one market to the next and can scale profitably.
  • Developing, maintaining and improving internal processes related to localization.
