Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Vice President, Communications, this role will envision, plan and execute innovative and holistic communications plans that support Enterprise culture and employee engagement, and advance organizational goals, directing the overall internal brand experience. The right candidate will join the Communications team at an exciting time for the organization as it heads into its 40th anniversary. The focus of this role is to represent the employee as a critical audience in Enterprise’s communication efforts by facilitating information flow and knowledge sharing across Enterprise’s three divisions: Solutions, Community Development and Capital. This position will focus on using communications to create a sense of cohesion and community among employees, articulating the rationale behind organizational decisions and actions, and to support our goal of making Enterprise an exceptional place to work. This will be accomplished in strong partnership with Human Resources and the Office of the CEO.
Responsibilities
Job Description
- Create and implement an internal communications plan to engage employees and facilitate their fluency in Enterprise’s mission and strategy.
- Reinforce Enterprise’s core values and strategic plan pillars in all communications.
- Ensure key achievements and external communications programs have appropriate internal coverage. Ensure clear roles and responsibilities with internal communication deliverables.
- Serve as a key leader on the Communications team, project managing and working across teams as necessary.
- Develop the agenda, collaborate with leadership and manage event logistics to host Town Halls, Senior Leadership Meetings, All Staff Retreats and other Enterprise-wide employee virtual and in-person meetings.
- Serve on the 40th Anniversary working group and lead the All Staff Retreat Planning Committee.
- Draft organization-wide internal announcements and leverage different channels (email, newsletters, virtual and in-person meetings, announcements, videos, intranet, etc.) to communicate timely information to employees.
- Collaborate with the Office of the President & CEO to advise on messaging and craft communications that align with organizational priorities.
- Provide consultative support for Human Resource-led communications including:
- Employee Resource Groups
- Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- Employee training, community service and engagement events
- Employment recruitment and retention, including service awards
- Return to office and health and safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Required years of experience: 5 years’ experience in communications role.
- Desired years of experience: 7 – 10 years’ experience in communications role.
- Writing experience for C-suite communications a plus.
- Understanding of complex national organizations, nonprofits, financial services, housing and racial equity a plus.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with knowledge of and proficiency in use of English grammar, punctuation and syntax.
- Complete discretion with sensitive and confidential information.
- A professional, proactive and resourceful style with the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative and to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to verbally communicate well and in a professional manner with a variety of audiences.
- Creative, detail-oriented, self-motivated and have a strong work ethic.
- Demonstrated personal and professional commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Collaborative and strategic thinker.
- Fully proficient in Microsoft Office; CMS fluency a plus.
