THE ROLE

In this role, the Director of Human Resources Business Partner will function as strategic partner to assigned global business functions across Wella. You will build organizational alignment and capability through creation and facilitation of leader-focused programs with both Global functionals and local teams. You will also create strategic workforce plans and ensure that they are aligned with business strategies and objectives.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with function leaders to understand business objectives and identify corresponding human resource needs; implements human resources strategy to support business objectives.
  • Partners with function leaders and other key functions to develop programs that support talent development, employee retention, and engagement.
  • Helps drive division-wide human resources strategy, programs, and processes within teams. Identifies HR infrastructure and program needs, and supports building capabilities to mitigate those gaps.
  • Partners with global and local teams ensuring maximum collaboration and communication, and high-level execution on HR initiatives.
  • Partner with HRBP colleagues and various stake holders providing strategic consultation and coaching to leaders on organizational issues that contribute to the growth of the business and the team.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field from four-year college or university required.
  • 10+ years of demonstrated HR Business Partner experience.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously, while also knowing when to increase collaboration and/or escalate matters.
  • Ability to work in an environment where you regularly “roll up your sleeves” and create capabilities from scratch. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands and have an interest in understanding the business.
  • Comfortable working in a highly matrixed environment.  Ability to know when to align and collaborate with internal partners. 
  • Comfortable and flexible, working across multiple geographies and time zones
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, bring simplicity and clarity to the forefront, and cascade clarifying communications effectively.
  • Strong project management skills.  Detail oriented and ability to move projects forward.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders in organizations.  Ability to build strong rationales and business cases to drive influence across leaders.
  • Candidate must have superb communication and interpersonal skills as well as be highly organized, action oriented, and collaborative.
