Here’s where you come in:

As the Director, Fragile Contexts Programming & Peacebuilding, you willprovide strategic and technical leadership for World Vision’s global thought and practice on fragile contexts programming expansion and for Peacebuilding and Conflict Sensitivity work across the WV Partnership. You will be responsible for leading World Vision’s global external engagement on fragile contexts programming across the humanitarian/development/peacebuilding nexus and global external engagement on peacebuilding and conflict sensitivity. Through your team, you will also provide leadership for children and youth peacebuilding, inter-religious conflict sensitivity and peacebuilding, and conflict sensitivity across all WV’s ministries (disaster management, transformational development, and advocacy). This will include coordinating delivery of WV’s world-class conflict analysis methodologies, including Good Enough Online Conflict Analysis for Rapid Response (GEOCARR) and Making Sense of Turbulent Contexts (MSTC).

Requirements include:

  • Master’s degree or degree with specialization in peacebuilding, conflict, international relations or similar relevant field.
  • Extensive experience with World Vision programming models and tools in fragile contexts.
  • Working knowledge of peacebuilding and conflict-sensitivity teams within multilateral organisations (UN, World Bank) and bilateral donors (e.g. DfID, USAID, GiZ) in Global Capitals
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in fragile contexts, ideally with World Vision
  • Experience in grant proposal design and implementation.
  • At least 7 years of technical experience in fragility and peacebuilding.
  • Previous attendance at a major international peacebuilding and fragility conferences (e.g. BuildPeace, Geneva Peace Week, Alliance for Peacebuilding, World Bank Fragility Forum).
  • Experience working in multi-stakeholder international networks, coalitions, and consortia (e.g. UN, European Union, GPPAC, EPLO, BOND)
  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time, including per travel to conflict-affected contexts
