CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Digital Media & Graphic Design Officer will be responsible for conceiving and designing IEC materials, audio visual services, designing publications, booklets, brochures, capacity statements, etc. The position holder will also provide support to the Communications and Reporting Unit for ensuring Save the Children’s visibility through print and publication material, capacity building of implementation teams and field staff and developing visibility materials.**

The position holder is responsible for delivering strong media engagement, products and opportunities (traditional and social media) to help advance the profile of Save the Children key moments.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Plan and execute strategic communications and media (all channels) strategy to increase reach, Engagement, profile and voice for SCI.
  • Strategically design social media campaigns in line with the HBCC and related projects’ guidelines.
  • Support the CO Communications team in developing quality content for the Project’s visibility.
  • Ensure compliance with the branding guidelines of Save the Children and the donor in all internal and external communication.
  • Responsible for conceiving ideas and designing products and takes initiatives to prepare visibility materials for enhancing the profile of the Project and Save the Children.
  • Provides support to the field office and implementing partners, and guides them on the correct use of branding guidelines.
  • Ensure proper safeguarding protocols to be followed in all communication visibility material.
  • Coordinates with vendors, such as printers, to ensure quality products and maintain databases of the same.
  • Contributes to the efforts of the Country Communications team by helping accomplish tasks as and when needed.
  • Draft statements, talking points, blog posts, op-eds, speeches and press releases.
  • Manage social media from front as well as back end with analytical reporting
  • Draft, and edit written materials, communications plans, and content as needed for partner, program, and communications teams.
  • Creating content for digital media platforms, including basic editing of GIFs, videos and voice recordings
  • Regularly communicating with external stakeholders including members from the Government of Pakistan
  • Build engagement and manage social media profiles to enhance voice and awareness using digital media channels such as Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, and Facebook.
  • Assist in organization of events and ensure effective visibility materials for events
  • Ensure effective coverage and documentation of events and project activities
  • Building the capacity of the staff and the implementing partners on following the branding guidelines of Save the Children.
  • Support Advocacy and Communications Team in carrying out their functions/tasks/activities, as & when needed.
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor and senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Media, Journalism, Business Management (Marketing), Social Sciences or any other relevant area of study. Preference will be given to Masters degree holders.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Two to Three years of experience working as a Digital Media & Graphic Design professional for a non-profit, for-profit, or government agency; or related professional experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of graphics designing software, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and some knowledge of Adobe after Effects, and CorelDraw, etc.
  • Experience in producing and editing video content using video making software’s like Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Handling Facebook Ads Manager and generating reports
  • Experience in handling photography and videography devices.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, fluency in English and Urdu, good organization and coordination skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of designing with regard to balanced layouts, complimenting colors.
